Zebra Elektric Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGIES OOD (“we”, “us”, or “our”) processes information when you use the Zebra Elektric mobile app, also identified on your device as Zebra Edge (the “App”).

The App is intended for authorised users of configured Zebra Elektric smart-crosswalk sites. An account and access to an authorised site are required.

1. Information we process

Account and authentication information

When you sign in, we process your email address and password to authenticate your account. The service stores your email address, a password hash, and identifiers associated with your user account and organisation. Authentication and refresh tokens are used to maintain your session. The App stores session tokens in the iOS Keychain; it does not store your plain-text password on your device.

Device and notification information

If you allow notifications, we process your Apple push-notification device token and your notification preferences so that we can send camera-alert and relay-activity updates. Your push token may be associated with your account. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings or change notification preferences in the App.

Site and operational information

To provide the App’s features, we process information associated with the sites you are authorised to access. This may include site and edge-box status, camera names and live camera streams, detection images and descriptions, alerts and event history, sensor readings, weather information, relay status, and actions you take to control supported relays.

The App receives live video from configured site cameras. The current iOS App does not use your device’s camera or microphone to record you.

Information stored locally on your device

The App stores limited settings and session information on your device, including your email address for display, your most recently registered push token, and authentication tokens in the iOS Keychain.

Optional diagnostic logging is disabled unless you enable it. These diagnostic logs remain on your device and are not automatically transmitted to us or to a third-party crash-reporting service. You can review or clear the local diagnostic log in the App.

Face ID and biometric authentication

If you choose to unlock the App with Face ID or another device biometric, authentication is handled by iOS. We do not receive or store your face template, fingerprint, or other biometric data. The App receives only the authentication result.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• authenticate users and maintain secure sessions;
• provide access to authorised sites and connected devices;
• display live video, detections, alerts, events, sensor readings, and device status;
• carry out requested relay actions and retain related operational records;
• deliver notifications according to your preferences;
• maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use the App for advertising or cross-app tracking. The App does not contain third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. When information is shared

We may share information only as needed with service providers that help us operate the service, such as infrastructure and hosting providers, live-video connectivity providers, and Apple for push-notification delivery. These providers may process information only to provide their services to us or as required by law.

We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, to protect the security and integrity of the service, or in connection with a merger, reorganisation, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.

Access to site information may also be available to authorised administrators and users within the organisation that manages the relevant Zebra Elektric site.

4. Data retention

We retain account information while your account is active and as needed afterwards for legitimate operational, security, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes.

Push-notification tokens are retained until they are unregistered, replaced, removed in connection with an account change, or no longer needed. Authentication tokens expire or are removed when no longer valid.

Operational information is retained according to the requirements of the relevant site and organisation. Detection images and their associated records currently remain until an authorised administrator deletes them. Local diagnostic information remains on your device until you clear it or remove the App.

5. Security

We use measures designed to protect information, including password hashing, hashed refresh-token storage, authenticated service connections, and iOS Keychain storage for session tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings, manage notification preferences and local diagnostics in the App, and sign out to remove the current session from your device. For account or site-data requests, contact your organisation’s Zebra Elektric administrator or contact us using the details below.

7. Children

The App is a site-management tool intended for authorised users and is not directed to children. Accounts should only be provided to appropriately authorised users.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our service, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and revise its effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
