Zebra Elektric Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGIES OOD (“we”, “us”, or “our”) processes information when you use the Zebra Elektric Android app (the “App”).

The App is intended for authorised users of configured Zebra Elektric smart-crosswalk sites. An account and access to an authorised site are required.

1. Information we process

Account and authentication information

When you sign in, we process your email address and password to authenticate your account. The service stores your email address, a password hash, and identifiers associated with your user account and organisation. Authentication and refresh tokens are used to maintain your session.

The App stores session information, including your email address, role, user and organisation identifiers, server URL, and authentication tokens, on your device. It uses Android encrypted preferences where available. The App does not intentionally store your plain-text password unless you explicitly enable biometric quick unlock, in which case the credential is stored locally to support that feature.

Notification preferences

We process your notification preferences so that the service can provide camera-alert and relay-activity updates according to your choices.

Site and operational information

To provide the App’s features, we process information associated with the sites you are authorised to access. This may include site and edge-box status, camera names and live camera streams, detection images and descriptions, alerts and event history, sensor readings, weather information, relay status, and actions you take to control supported relays.

The App displays live video and detection images from configured site cameras. It does not use your Android device’s camera or microphone to record you.

Biometric authentication

If you choose to unlock the App with a fingerprint, face, or another supported device biometric, authentication is handled by Android. We do not receive or store your fingerprint, face template, or other biometric template. The App receives only the authentication result.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• authenticate users and maintain secure sessions;
• provide access to authorised sites and connected devices;
• display live video, detections, alerts, events, sensor readings, and device status;
• carry out requested relay actions and retain related operational records;
• provide notifications according to your preferences;
• maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations.

The App does not contain third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not use the App for cross-app tracking, sell personal information, or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. When information is shared

We may share information only as needed with service providers that help us operate the service, such as infrastructure, hosting, notification-delivery, and live-video connectivity providers. These providers may process information only to provide their services to us or as required by law.

We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, to protect the security and integrity of the service, or in connection with a merger, reorganisation, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.

Access to site information may also be available to authorised administrators and users within the organisation that manages the relevant Zebra Elektric site.

4. Data retention

We retain account information while your account is active and as needed afterwards for legitimate operational, security, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes. Authentication tokens expire or are removed when no longer valid.

Operational information is retained according to the requirements of the relevant site and organisation. Detection images and their associated records remain until an authorised administrator deletes them or the applicable retention period ends. Local session information remains on your device until you sign out, clear the App’s data, or remove the App, subject to the biometric quick-unlock settings you have chosen.

5. Security

We use measures designed to protect information, including password hashing, authenticated service connections, encrypted local session storage where available, and Android’s biometric authentication framework. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can manage notification preferences and biometric quick unlock in the App, and sign out to remove the current session from your device. For account or site-data requests, contact your organisation’s Zebra Elektric administrator or contact us using the details below.

7. Children

The App is a site-management tool intended for authorised adult users and is not directed to children. Accounts should only be provided to appropriately authorised users.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our service, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and revise its effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
